What is a CPSI?

At Playgrounds.com, we know the ins and outs of keeping playgrounds safe as well as ensuring they’re compliant with local, state, and national regulations. Our playground inspectors aren’t just knowledgeable about playground safety; they’ve undergone rigorous training in order to become Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CPSIs). The standards our inspectors adhere to are laid out by two primary organizations: The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the ASTM. Among other things, these two groups are responsible for standardizing playground equipment and setting out compliance rules for playground safety.

Consumer Product Safety Commission

The CPSC is responsible for ensuring the safety of consumer products sold to American citizens.

ASTM

ASTM International helps develop and publish technical standards for a breadth of materials and products. There are over 12,000 ASTM standards that companies seek to follow, including those pertaining to commercial playground equipment.
